Catherine Hill is a writer, director, and producer driven by the power of storytelling to open hearts and inspire change. With over three decades of experience as a script editor, dramaturg, and director, she has mentored writers and directors, taught scriptwriting at Deakin University, and served as a script assessor for La Mama Theatre for ten years before stepping into the role of Chair of the La Mama Committee of Management.

A WAAPA graduate (Acting), Catherine has worked across film, television, and theatre as a performer, producing and directing over forty theatrical productions, including several national tours. Her transition to filmmaking culminated in her debut feature, SOME HAPPY DAY (2022), which was nominated for Best Direction of a Feature Film under $1M by the Australian Directors Guild (ADG), won Best Film at the Capricorn Film Festival, and was critically acclaimed at festivals worldwide. Following a theatrical release and streaming on SBS On Demand, the film now streams on Prime.

Alongside Impact Producer Rowen Smith and Producer Cecilia Low, Catherine built an Impact Campaign to humanise homelessness and drive action. A major milestone was integrating SOME HAPPY DAY into the Australian high school curriculum through Cool.org, where it is used as an English teaching resource for Years 9 & 10.
In 2023, Catherine expanded her work as Executive Producer on the award winning PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY, supporting series creator Iain Crittenden.
